Join our residential treatment program at Embark Behavioral Health, serving adolescents ages 10-17, and make a lasting impact on young people and their families. As the Executive Director, you'll lead a mission-driven team utilizing innovative, relationship-centered, experiential, and systemic treatment approaches that foster deep healing, resilience, and lasting family change. Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for a residential mental health treatment facility
  • Foster a culture rooted in empathy, trust, service, growth, and measurable outcomes
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, client-centered care using a collaborative treatment approach
  • Oversee clinical programming, ensuring effective planning, implementation, and ongoing adjustment of treatment services
  • Build strong relationships with clients, families, community partners, and referral sources
  • Develop and manage facility budgets, ensuring financial health and sustainability
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, licensing standards, and best practices in documentation, reporting, and confidentiality
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to drive program excellence and continuous improvement
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent while supporting professional growth and team engagement
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Behavioral Health, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration (MBA), or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health, mental health, residential treatment, healthcare, human services, or a related setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams, including clinical, operations, and support staff.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing program operations, budgeting, staffing, and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health treatment models, trauma-informed care, risk management, and quality assurance practices.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with state licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and team development skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with families, referral partners, community organizations, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial data to drive organizational performance and positive client outcomes.
  • Valid State of Oregon driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and meet all employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oregon professional licensure (or license eligibility) as a psychologist, professional counselor, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, or other relevant behavioral health credential.
  • Experience leading a residential treatment center, psychiatric facility, therapeutic boarding school, or adolescent behavioral health program.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, CARF, or other accreditation standards.
  • Experience working with adolescents and families in a residential treatment environment.
  • Demonstrated success in staff recruitment, retention, coaching, and organizational culture development.
  • Experience managing program budgets, census growth, and operational performance metrics.
