Job description

After School Site Aide (Kidzu)

Responsible for assisting the Lead Coordinator in implementing the Extended Care Program. This includes preparing and leading daily activities, safety, and supervision of all children, and communicating with and building student relationships.

High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience working with school age children

Experience working with children in large group settings

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required

Actively supervise students and provide a fun & safe environment for them

Follow all safety and security procedures as directed by EDP standards

Assist in preparing and leading daily activities

Responsible for digital attendance and family contact information

Prepare the physical environment before and after EDP each day

All other duties as assigned

Develop professional skills and knowledge appropriate to the job assignment

Participate in staff development by attending staff meetings as assigned

Attend 15 hours of paid professional development training per year

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), the ability to cope with emotional situations and stress; maintain control when under stress; Demonstrate patience and flexibility in changing job demands and when interacting with employees, visitors, and the public; Anticipate moderate stooping, bending, and lifting in addition to pushing/pulling equipment during set-up and clean-up; Maintain control under stress
