We are seeking an experienced Lead Enterprise Architect to provide senior-level leadership in stabilizing and maturing the Enterprise Architecture (EA) function. This role will lead Corporate Products EA, Transportation EA, and Business Architecture teams while establishing governance and aligning enterprise architecture with modernization and AI-assisted delivery initiatives.
Lead Enterprise Architect Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day leadership across Corporate Products, Transportation, and Business Architecture teams.
Establish an effective EA operating rhythm, including standups, intake triage, prioritization, and architecture decision support.
Define and implement lightweight EA governance, standards, architecture reviews, and decision frameworks.
Align enterprise architecture with modernization initiatives and secure cloud adoption.
Integrate AI-driven architecture methods into EA workflows, modernization efforts, and decision support.
Assess EA capabilities and gaps while mentoring architects and strengthening architectural discipline across product teams.
Lead Enterprise Architect Qualifications - Critical
20+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or modernization leadership.
15+ years in Enterprise Architecture leadership and 15+ years in Systems Engineering.
10+ years working with EA frameworks such as DoDAF, UAF, TOGAF, BEA, or ETP.
10+ years designing Microservices/SOA architectures.
7+ years in AWS and/or Google Cloud architecture and modernization.
5+ years implementing Zero Trust Architecture aligned with NIST principles.
3+ years integrating AI into architecture methods, modernization workflows, or decision support.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven ability to stabilize and mature EA functions and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
Lead Enterprise Architect Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of enterprise architecture consulting in complex federal or similarly high-stakes environments.
10+ years advising CIOs, CTOs, and other senior executives on EA strategy.
10+ years mentoring architects and building organizational capabilities.
5+ years supporting IT acquisition reform or enterprise transformation programs.
The Lead Enterprise Architect will be a key strategic advisor and hands-on leader, helping establish a mature, scalable EA practice that supports cloud modernization, Zero Trust, AI-enabled delivery, and enterprise transformation.
