Job description

Established in 1969, Sunrise Enterprises is on a mission to foster meaningful connections through a person-centered approach. Our dedicated team engages with each individual seeking our services, crafting personalized plans to support their employment, personal, and community aspirations.

Position acts as an assistant to the Manager in their scheduled location for Sunrise Enterprises of Roseburg, Inc., a private non-profit Corporation that provides employment and community inclusion services for adults with disabilities. This position will manage day-to-day store operations and provide supervision and support to all store staff, EPs, volunteers, and participants. Qualifications:
  • High-school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year’s mid-level supervisory retail experience is required.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrate strong team-building capabilities and a high level of proficiency, with the ability to train others effectively and efficiently.
  • Some exposure to working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in an employment setting preferred.
  • Proficient in email communication, word processing, and cloud-based applications, including Microsoft 365, LBoss, timekeeping applications, and case management software, e.g. SetWorks, Paycor.
  • Must have ability and desire to relate to people with physical/mental disabilities with dignity and respect.
  • Proven, stable employment history.
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurable by Sunrise insurance carrier.
  • Pass criminal history check, and a drug test including THC.
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Required to obtain OIS Certification and believe in its philosophy.
Working Conditions/Hours
Daily and hourly Store hours are typically Sunday – Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Some evening and weekend work is possible due to scheduling, employment service contracts, and sales demand. Overtime may be required with prior approval from the direct supervisor.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Standing 6-8 hours per day, sitting 1-3 hours per day, walking, reaching above and below shoulder, grasping, kneeling, bending, driving, and able to perform all essential functions. Occasional lifting up to 45 lbs. Able to handle and diffuse tense or difficult situations. Operates pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently. Reasonable accommodation will be provided for a person with a disability under the ADA.
Essential Functions:
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Assist manager with compliance of Sunrise Policy and Procedures.
  • Supervise all staff and participants in performing daily operations of store.
  • Function as store manager in manager’s absence.
  • Perform duties and complete tasks as requested by supervisor in a reasonable amount of time.
  • At the beginning of each shift, promptly review emails, daily schedules, and staff assignments. Ensure the sales floor is properly staffed, merchandise is organized and displayed according to standards, and team members are prepared to deliver excellent customer service. Verify registers are operational, supplies are stocked, and all activities comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Submit time sheets and other required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain agency records in a professional manner consistent with prescribed guidelines and expectations.
  • Do not exceed responsibilities/authority that have been delegated by supervisor.
  • Assure quality of services and products provided to Participants and customers.
  • Ensure and maintain security of assigned corporate buildings, property, and other assets.
  • Provide effective training for staff and participants.
  • Supervise and/or assist with task analyses, norms, and time studies.
  • Assure that cost-effective and efficient production methods are utilized.
  • Set a good example to others regarding skills, behaviors, attitudes and personal characteristics required to function effectively in a work environment.
  • Implement and participate in safety and safety programs. Report any accidents, incidents of neglect, abuse, emergencies, or problems to the supervisor and/or appropriate person per policy.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, training, and committees.
Support Functions
  • Assure quality of Sunrise employment services.
  • Serve as a role model for appropriate work behaviors, social skills, respect for others, and cooperation.
  • Follow all participant protocols, including training, employment, medical and behavioral supports.
  • Provide transportation to participants as needed.
  • Complete and provide evidence of training to meet state requirements for Employment Professionals.
  • Participate in the development of ISPs with Employment Services (must come to agreement of ISP before presenting to ISP team).
  • Submit all required paperwork to respective recipients by scheduled due dates (e.g., record training efforts, participant productivity, progress towards ISP goals, case notes, incident reports, etc.).
  • Keep relationships with participants professional and limited to work settings and supports. Notify your supervisor of any conflicts of interest due to preexisting relationships with participants.
  • Assist participants to acquire and develop the skills, behaviors, attitudes, and personal characteristics required to function effectively in a work environment.
  • Assist Employment Services staff in providing case management of participants as directed. This includes participant goal setting and training that would maximize their employment potential. Ensure job stations for participants are set up prior to their work shift. Ensure processes are in place to keep the flow of material to job stations constant.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
