Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to understand clients' mental health concerns and treatment needs effectively.
• Develop and implement customized treatment plans based on individual assessments, ensuring they are contextually sensitive and promote holistic recovery.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic methodologies, remaining informed about the latest developments in counseling practices to provide effective care.
• Facilitate ongoing counseling sessions that foster a warm, engaging, and non-judgmental environment, encouraging clients to share openly.
• Regularly review and adjust treatment strategies to improve client progress, collaborating with clients to ensure alignment with their personal goals.
• Refer clients to other mental health professionals when advanced care is necessary, ensuring comprehensive support across their treatment journey.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for each client interaction, ensuring compliance with state regulations and best practices in mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The LPC will focus on a diverse client base comprising individuals from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in Newark, New Jersey. Clients may present with a wide array of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Your approach will involve understanding each client’s unique perspective and circumstances, tailoring therapeutic interventions to support their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field is required to ensure a strong foundational knowledge of therapeutic practices.
• Candidates must hold all state-mandated licenses to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with clients and facilitating productive sessions.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
