Job description

A member of Trinity Health, one of the largest multi-institutional Catholic health care delivery systems in the nation, Fort Lauderdale-based Holy Cross Hospital, dba Holy Cross Health, is a full-service, not-for-profit, Catholic, teaching hospital operating in the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy. We are the only not-for-profit Catholic hospital in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Through strategic collaborations and a commitment to being a person-centered, transforming, healing presence, the 557-bed hospital offers progressive inpatient, outpatient and community outreach services and clinical research trials to serve as our community's trusted health partner for life.

Job Summary:

Performs daily cleaning procedures in patient rooms and other ancillary areas in the hospital including nursing stations, restrooms, offices, etc., utilizing various tools, equipment and chemicals to maintain a sanitary environment. Completes cleaning requests for check-outs and transfers on a daily basis. Responsible for collecting trash and soiled linen to transport to the appropriate storage area. Maintains furniture in patient rooms, offices, and other ancillary areas in an orderly fashion, and observes equipment, furniture, etc., and reports necessary repair or replacement. Maintains work areas, equipment, and supplies in a clean, safe and orderly manner.

Hours / Shifts Available (per diem, as-needed position with opportunity to become full-time):

  • Evening - 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

What you will need:

  • Prior housekeeping experience preferred.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write theEnglish language.

  • Ability to maintain frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing or pulling and to lift at least 25 pounds.
