Job Description

The S&S Sharing Economy Underwriting Assistant supports the underwriting business by providing Pre- and Post-Quote transaction support, ensuring data accuracy, and facilitating efficient policy processing. This role is integral to maintaining high service standards and operational excellence within the department.

What you will do for C&F:

Pre Quote Support

  • Validate data entry in underwriting workbooks and systems (e.g., auto classification, GL classification, schedule of underlying, and losses).
  • Assist in verifying proper documentation regarding coverage and limits prior to transaction completion.
  • Communicate with customers to obtain required information for transaction processing.

Post-Bind Transaction Management

  • Utilize internal systems to draft policies, verify data accuracy, and manage document setup.
  • Follow up with underwriters for approval on accounts/transactions outside authority.
  • Issue and mail approved Policies; ensure premium booking in the appropriate system(s).
  • Review underlying policies, report policy data to third-party agencies (e.g., Departments of Motor Vehicles), and resolve agency feedback promptly.
  • Process post-bind transactions, including endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.

Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve policy questions, address issues, and streamline processes.
  • Partner with system support to test system releases and verify programming changes in production environment.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

What you will bring to C&F:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Prior insurance or underwriting support experience is required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills and ability to take initiative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet-based Technology.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Crum & Forster is committed to ensuring a workplace free from discriminatory pay disparities and complying with applicable pay equity laws.  Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $36,000.00 to a maximum of $67,800.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
