Athena Medtech is seeking an experienced and compassionate NICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will be skilled in delivering high-level care to premature and critically ill newborns, while also providing essential support to families during challenging times.
QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 5 years in a Level III or IV NICU setting
Licensure: Active RN license in the State of Rhode Island (required)
Certifications:
BLS/CPR (required)
Additional NICU-specific certifications preferred (e.g., NRP)
Other Requirements:
Proficiency in English
COVID-19 vaccination required
Provide comprehensive, 24-hour care to newborns with critical health needs
Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and adjust specialized equipment
Develop and evaluate individualized nursing care plans for neonatal patients
Feed and tend to the basic needs of infants while ensuring a nurturing environment
Educate and support families regarding home care and long-term considerations
Serve as a primary advocate and point of contact for newborns and their families
Collaborate with neonatologists and the wider interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
Deep understanding of neonatal health conditions and intensive care procedures
Proficient in using NICU monitoring and life-support equipment
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-stakes situations
Compassionate communicator, particularly with parents and families in crisis
