Position: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)

Position Overview:
This role is responsible for conducting and evaluating diagnostic sleep studies including PSG, MSLT, and CPAP titrations. The technologist will accurately analyze and score results for physician interpretation, contribute to quality assurance, and ensure all related equipment is properly applied, removed, and maintained. This includes acknowledgment of charges for billing purposes.
Essential Duties:
- Independently perform high-quality sleep studies (PSG and others).
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment; perform routine maintenance and minor repairs; report issues to management.
- Select appropriate montages and obtain high-quality recordings, recognizing and correcting artifacts.
- Assess patients' physical and mental status before, during, and after testing; notify appropriate personnel as needed.
- Operate all testing equipment effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure patient comfort and satisfaction, providing responsive and courteous care.
- Participate in additional projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or RRT. If RRT, completion or enrollment in A-STEP Online Self-Study Modules is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a sleep center or in respiratory therapy.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to read, write, and communicate moderately complex information.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, and general office equipment.
- Willingness to learn department-specific computer programs.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability to changing processes, priorities, and responsibilities.
