Job description

Job Summary: The Customer Demand & Forecast Analyst develops demand forecasts to support operational planning, inventory management, and business decision-making and analyzes inventory levels, sales data, production metrics, and product demand trends to determine the amount of finished product to be produced. This position primarily supports the Van Buren Twp. plant.


Responsibilities

  • Attend the plant daily Flash Meeting and report out customer and supplier concerns as well as reviewing the Flow board daily.
  • Responsible for managing the cycle count program.
  • Support Constellium onsite employees at any Subcon offsite location.
  • Update the customer portal as required (example Ford, FCA, GM, BMW).
  • Manage customer delivery ratings.
  • Contact sales and customer if potential commercial issues are identified. 
  • Enter customer shippers to support daily customer shipments.
  • Prepare demand plans and lead the monthly S&OP process.
  • Analyze customer EDI forecast weekly for accurate planning and capacity constraints and communicate any concerns.  
  • Main point of contact for all customers; notify customer of any potential interruptions.
  • Perform Item Parameter Reviews annually on all customer end items and WIP assemblies and reconcile customer cums weekly.
  • Attend Program Management and ECR meetings weekly and communicate changes to the plant team.
  • Manage and lead engineering changes and customer build out at the end of a program model year.
  • Prepare data for obsolescence claims to the customer and provide to sales.
  • Follow ISO 14001, 9001, 45001, IATF 16949, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Backup when the Materials Manager or Master Scheduler is out of the office. 
  • All other duties assigned and necessary to perform the job. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, preferred or High School Diploma or GED with equivalent work experience, required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of materials scheduling experience in a tier 1 automotive facility, required.
  • Experience working with OEM customer releases and demand schedule, preferred. 
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience with supplier planner/ordering, preferred.
  • Detailed oriented in nature, preferred.
  • Excellent problem resolution skills, required.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, required.
  • Proficient with MRP systems, PLEX experience is required.  

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Frequent interaction with manufacturing floor personnel.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment.
  • Exposure to production equipment, moving machinery, and varying noise levels.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required to support customer requirements and production demands.
