Job description

At PGE, our work involves dreaming about, planning for, and realizing a smarter, cleaner, more enduring Oregon neighborhood. Its core to our DNA and we haven't stopped since we started in 1888. We energize lives, strengthen communities and drive advancements in energy that promote social, economic and environmental progress. We're always on the lookout for people passionate about leading and being a part of teams that are advancing innovative clean energy solutions that are also affordable and accessible to all.
We're hiring for a position open to both Mid-Career and Senior level candidates. The level will be determined based on the successful applicant's qualifications, experience, and skills demonstrated during the interview process.
Cloud Solutions Architect / Senior Cloud Solutions Architect
At PGE, our work is foundational to how Oregon is powered today and into the future. We plan for, build, and operate the technology that enables a smarter, cleaner, and more resilient energy system, delivering safe, reliable, and affordable power to more than two million customers across the state.
The Cloud Solutions Architect plays a mission-critical role in this effort, providing architectural leadership for the cloud platforms that underpin PGE's utility operations. This role is responsible for designing, governing, and guiding secure, resilient, and cost-effective cloud architectures, with a primary focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and support for Microsoft Azure, ensuring these platforms can reliably support always-on, customer- and field-facing systems.
Operating at the intersection of architecture, delivery, operations, and governance, this position holds decision authority for cloud design choices that directly influence system reliability, operational resilience, cybersecurity posture, capital protection, and regulatory compliance. The decisions made in this role have tangible, real-world impact affecting outage response, field execution, safety, and the continuity of essential utility services.
As a trusted architectural leader, this position enables teams to move quickly while ensuring solutions remain secure by design, resilient by default, and operationally sound. This role strengthens the digital backbone of utility operations technology, connecting field crews, engineers, planners, and operators through mission-critical systems that support power generation, asset and work management, grid operations, and customer outcomes where failure is not an option.
