Job Description

At SGS, we're building and evolving a business-critical Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) used by laboratories across the globe. We are looking for a talented Java Developer to help deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions that support thousands of users worldwide.

This is an opportunity to work with modern technologies including Java 21, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and Cloud environments, while collaborating with international teams on large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

What You'll Do

As part of our Global IT Delivery team, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade applications that power laboratory operations worldwide.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing new features using Java 21 and Spring Boot
  • Building and maintaining REST and SOAP integrations
  • Developing scalable microservices architectures
  • Supporting cloud-native deployments within Kubernetes environments
  • Collaborating with Business Analysts, Architects, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams
  • Performing troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production support
  • Monitoring application performance and ensuring platform reliability
  • Participating in code reviews and promoting engineering best practices
  • Supporting software releases through CI/CD pipelines
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and technical improvements
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional Java development experience
  • Strong knowledge of Java 17/18/21
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot
  • Experience developing REST APIs and system integrations
  • Solid understanding of microservices architectures
  • Experience working with Oracle or other relational databases
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience using Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with application monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of testing practices and secure coding principles
  • English (B2 or above)
  • Spanish is a plus
