Days/Hours of Work:
Job Summary
The Operations Manager has overall accountability for the distribution, warehouse, and facility operations. Collaborates cross-functionally between all departments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to Heartland customers in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Job Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Oversees the daily functions in distribution and warehouse including inventory and product planning to ensure operational targets are met. May also oversee the merchandising function.
  • Team Leadership: Provides leadership and guidance to the Supervisors of Distribution, Warehouse and/or Merchandising. Focuses on development of the team and building capabilities within the department. Works with Talent Acquisition to ensure adequate staffing. Monitor and work to increase employee retention.
  • Facility Management: Submit capital project lists for review/approval. Request bids from external contractors, may be involved in the selection of contract services and negotiations. May manage building leases and may be involved with external contractors for building and grounds maintenance. Oversees daily M&R budgets to maintain DC functioning.
  • Budget/Cost Management: Reviews the P&L monthly and operates within the parameters of both labor and operating expense budgets. Assists in the analysis and submission of annual departmental budgets. Oversees and manages the short and long-term departmental operation budgets.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Maintains collaborative relationships with all departments to achieve business goals and customer satisfaction. Collaborate in the planning and forecasting of volume with sales and supply chain. Works with product supply to mitigate OOS and manage warehouse inventory.
  • Compliance and Safety: Oversight of the safeguard and security of company assets. Adheres to and ensures compliance with company standards and policies in addition to all regulatory requirements. Monitor the safety training for timely completion. Ensures a safe and operational fleet.
  • Continuous Improvement: Supports and implements company initiatives to achieve performance, quality, and safety standards. Promotes enhanced levels of efficiency through continuous process improvement. Exhibits vision for future improvement as our workforce and business needs change.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of work experience required, or a minimum of five years of progressive job experience including people, project, or account management with leadership and influencing skills required.
  • Prior experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Operations Management in a related industry required. Beverage industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, and Labor Relations preferred.
  • Experienced in hands-on management styles and capable of operating in a fast-paced, challenging environment while receiving limited direction.
  • Strong analytical thought process and ability to communicate verbally, in writing or presenting to your team and other leaders.
  • Effectively communicates and builds relationships at all organizational levels with the ability to both present ideas and influence decisions at leadership level.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
  • Valid Driver's License, current vehicle liability insurance, driving record within policy guidelines.

Pay: $112,760.00 - $133,903.00 a year
