Job description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY: Maintain physical and systematic warehouse stock control and inventory. Maintain accurate and consistent movement of all inbound and outbound materials.

Level 1
Receive materials and supplies from vendors; enter receipts into warehouse computer system.
Process all paperwork through the Enterprise Resource Planning tool for all business platforms.
Maintain delivery and shipping records.
Maintain warehouse inventory of all supplies stored in any CRL warehouse.
Assist in establishing and maintaining stock and inventory control.
Monitor and stock on hand fulfillment supplies to assure availability for daily order filling.
Pull and stage materials for all outside processes. Support any Kan-Ban efforts.
Process returned goods from clients. Communicate requirements to Business units and Purchasing. Initiate NCE's as required.
Work with Sourcing and Supply Planning in researching delivery concerns and receipt discrepancies.
Communicate to expedite supply flow.
Make recommendations regarding process improvement and actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
Assist in daily cycle counts as required.
Participate in the morning sample sort when necessary.
Utilize forklift to load/unload truck and in support of all material movement.
Check in Vendors
Schedule outbound/inbound deliveries. Utilize courier shipping systems when applicable.
Train in all areas of Distribution Center to understand material movement and be able to back up where needed.
Drive company vehicles to deliver/pick-up on all CRL campuses and to support the mail run.
Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all CRL, CRL subsidiaries, legal entities and client information.
Be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
Keep warehouse neat, clean and safe.
Other duties as assigned.

Level 2
Perform duties of Level 1.
Perform Level 1 duties of the Material Expeditor.
Must maintain 49 CFR Certification and DOT medical certificate

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Previous warehouse and material handling experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Attention to detail
Ability to organize work and use time efficiently with minimal direction
Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to follow directions and work accurately
Ability to make decisions

Cooperative approach to teamwork
Must work well under pressure
PC skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience with an ERP system
Able to comply with CRL's DOT program including passing a medical requirement for DOT medical card
Operation of a box truck up to 24'
Ability to be at work and on time
Ability and judgment to interact and communicate appropriately with other employees, visitors, and management

EQUIPMENT: Computer terminal, Communication equipment, printers, 10 key calculator, shipping terminals, box knife, material handling equipment, storage racks, dock doors, dumpsters, ladder, dolly, pallet jack, trash compactor, forklift, company vehicles, delivery trucks up to 24'.

OTHER: This position requires an acceptable driving record; high energy and constant movement; overtime necessary according to workload; some weekend work required; exposure to heat, dust and noise. Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment. Forklift operator requires minimum age of 18 years. Trash compactor requires minimum age of 18 years. 49 CFR certification training must be completed within the first 90 days of employment *. DOT physical required within 45 days of employment (if applicable).
