Division Description:

Within Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, the Global Markets Division brings together the Research, Investment and Risk Management Solutions, Execution and Clearing, Prime Services, Equities, Fixed Income, Futures and Currencies & Commodities structuring capabilities with the objective of providing investors with one integrated multi-asset market solutions team. The business uses an advisory and innovation mindset, focused on client needs, with a global leader in financial markets engineering. Global Markets is a leading player in derivatives, with unrivaled over the counter and listed derivatives expertise, as well as cross-asset and economic research.  Our prime services' offering is a unique combination of execution, clearing, custody and financing services. 

MARK is a business line with approximately 400 full-time staff in the US, NBI circa $1.6b in 2025.

Responsibilities:

This role within the MARK/BTO/DIR (Chief Operating Officer) team supports the Sales business across Global Markets in the Americas, covering Equities and Fixed Income activities. The Chief Operating Officer acts as a trusted partner to the Heads of Sales, their ExCo members, and senior MARK management. The role contributes to the strategic steering, performance monitoring, and operational coordination of the Sales franchise, with a strong focus on client activity, commercial performance, and resource optimization.

The COO serves as a central entry point for financial, operational, and strategic topics impacting Sales. As a COO, the employee will leverage highly specialized knowledge of Societe Generale proprietary tools, systems, and frameworks acquired during prior employment within SG to support the Sales organization in the Americas. Specifically, the employee will utilize systems including Air, XONE, Liqor, Garliq, Microstrategy, FARMS, CProfit, PSExpense, SG Markets dashboards, BDR/Starware, Synapse, Maestro, KSM, MyCredit, and Colibris to carry out the following professionallevel responsibilities, with the approximate percentage of time allocated to each duty:

Review, analyze, and monitor the commercial and financial performance of Sales activities, producing financial and clientcentric analytics including trend reporting, variance analysis, and adhoc analyses across revenues, costs, and scarce resources; (20%) (Air, C-Profit, SG Markets dashboards, Synapse, and BDR/Starware):

  • Analyze, comment, and present Sales Americas financial and commercial results, highlighting key revenue drivers, client trends, and product mix evolution

  • Provide detailed explanations on Sales Credits, Retention Rates and commercial KPIs, including methodology and calculation drivers

  • Maintain daytoday interaction with Finance on Sales revenues, allocation methodologies, costs, and forecasting assumptions

Centralize and coordinate the monthly forecasting of Sales Credits and Retention Rate, in close collaboration with local Finance teams and Global counterparts; (5%) (Air, C-Profit, SG Markets dashboard, Synapse, BDR/Starware):

  • Develop forwardlooking Sales performance projections

  • Assess the impact of commercial initiatives, client development strategies, and market conditions on Sales financial trajectories

Actively contribute to the Americas Budget and Strategic Review process for Sales, in coordination with regional and global Finance teams, Sales Heads, and Chief Operating Officer counterparts across regions; (5%) (SG Markets dashboard, Synapse, BDR/Starware):

  • Support multiyear Sales business planning, budgeting, and strategic roadmaps

  • Provide quantitative and qualitative assessments on Sales performance evolution versus prior years and strategic targets

Deliver adhoc analyses at the request of the Heads of Sales, ExCo members, and MARK senior management; (10%) (Specialized Knowledge: Gizeh, Air, C-Profit, BDR/Starware, SG Markets dashboards):

  • Commercial and client profitability analysis (Sales Credits, Retention Rates and other financial measures)

  • Conducting specific research and analysis to provide senior management with recommendations and insights on their financials or headcount trend

  • Analysis on client and/or product performance (for instance crosssell analysis)

  • Risk/reward analysis (e.g., debtor risk, credit counterparty risk, market risk)

  • Operational efficiency analysis (e.g., cost/benefit assessment, process mapping, identification of bottlenecks, suggestion of improvements)

Drive continuous improvement in Sales reporting, data quality, and analytics, including automation and digital enhancements across financial, commercial, and risk reporting; (10%) (Specialized Knowledge: Air, C-Profit, Synapse, BDR/Starware, SG Markets dashboards):

  • Process enhancements: Review all Sales reporting processes and implement/promote automation when applicable

  • Data Quality: Strengthen controls and data integrity across Sales reporting frameworks

 Design and maintain efficient Salesfocused reporting to support business needs, strategic initiatives, and executivelevel requests (5%) (Gizeh, Air, C-Profit, Synapse, and BDR/Starware):

  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools covering Sales revenue, client activity, and headcount Key Performance Indicators ("KPIs")

 Develop advanced client profitability and revenue attribution analysis for Sales, including revenue by client, product, and sales channel. (10%) (Gizeh, Air, C-Profit, Synapse, and BDR/Starware):

  •  Provide insights to support client strategy, pricing decisions, and sales prioritization

Liaise with all aspects of resource groups impacting the business, including Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Finance and Risk. (5%) (Maestro, KSM, ABP Monitor, MyCredit, Liqor, Garliq, Microstrategy, FARMS, Financing Platform):

  •  Identify process improvement opportunities

  • Represent Sales interests in crossregional and Group initiatives

  • Assess regulatory and balance sheet impacts of Sales activity, including liquidity usage and structural metrics

Facilitate client onboarding, offboarding, KYC and client due diligence processes for MARK Sales, acting as a central coordinator between Sales, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations, KYC teams and other relevant stakeholders. (10%) (Maestro, KSM, MyCredit, Colibris, ABP Monitor):

  • Coordinate end-to-end onboarding and offboarding workflows, including information gathering, prioritization, stakeholder follow-up, status tracking, escalation of blockers, and coordination of required approvals

  • Support KYC execution, client due diligence, periodic reviews, remediation exercises and monitoring of the existing client population, ensuring appropriate governance, documentation, and control standards

  • Prepare and maintain management reporting and key performance indicators to track onboarding and KYC activity, progress, bottlenecks, data quality and completion status

  •  Identify process gaps, data quality issues and operational inefficiencies across onboarding, offboarding and KYC workflows, and contribute to process optimization, tool enhancements and remediation actions

Lead and coordinate Salesrelated "ChangeTheBank" initiatives in partnership with Technology and other stakeholders. (10%):

  • Manage Sales transformation projects, including new tools, regulatory changes, or organizational evolution

  • Ensure consistent communication to senior management and project sponsors

  • Oversee collection and prioritization of Sales IT requirements

Ensure Sales activities operate within a robust control framework and contribute to remediation of identified weaknesses. (10%) (Maestro, KSM, MyCredit, Colibris):

  • Support Sales Compliance and Risk training initiatives

  • Review and update Salesrelated policies and procedures

  • Contribute to operational incident analysis and remediation

  • Participate in Group risk and contingency planning exercises impacting Sales

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of Global Markets instruments, risks and operational processes

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel-Macros & VBA, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Advanced skills using various tools for management reporting

Desired / Plus:

  • Experience with other programming languages a plus

  • Understanding of structured credit instruments, risks and operational processes

Competencies:

  • 5 years of experience working in a global financial organization

  • Experience in working with controls, budgets, risk appetite, and industry guidelines

  • Experience managing projects and leading groups towards specific business plans;

  • Leadership experience representing business initiatives, including reporting improvements, technology related improvements, system migration and process improvements;

  • Experience in directly interacting with business line managers and all resource-type functions (including Finance, Risk, Operation, IT, Legal and Compliance)

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree or U.S. equivalent in Finance, Financial Engineering, Engineering, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field

Desired / Plus:

  • Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Finance, Financial Engineering, Engineering, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field

Languages: English, French
