Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Focus Product Representative on the Wholesale Crop Protection (CP) team. This role supports designated Focus Products by providing sales enablement, field support, and technical coordination aligned with CHS marketing priorities. The position partners closely with Sales Managers, Technical Specialists, and Marketing to ensure Focus Products are effectively positioned, supported with high‑quality field data, and consistently executed across the organization. Responsibilities include customer plot coordination, product performance documentation, training support, and development of technical selling tools that drive customer confidence and business results. Success in this role reflects CHS Capabilities, including strong collaboration, customer focus, accountability, and a results‑oriented mindset.

Position requires residence within the assigned Kansas territory that allows for efficient travel to support customers, field activities, and sales initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Focus Product Champion for the assigned sales team in partnership with Sales Managers, Technical Specialists, and Marketing.
  • Support sales teams by building confidence and proper positioning of Focus Products through education, data, and field insight.
  • Participate in and present at customer meetings, sales meetings, training events, and field days focused on Focus Products.
  • Assist with establishing, managing, and tracking Focus Product demonstration plots, including plot development and documentation.
  • Support Technical Specialists with documentation related to plot results, field observations, and product questions or complaints.
  • Assist with collecting and organizing data from field demonstration trials and replicated research trials in coordination with CHS Research and Product Analysts.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support technical content, insights, and sales support materials.
  • Assist with the development of technical selling tools, including presentations, technical bulletins, and promotional materials.
  • Support training efforts for CHS personnel to effectively communicate technical and agronomic information to customers.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation related to research data, technical information, sales activity, and expenses using CHS systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Demonstrate CHS Capabilities through cross‑functional collaboration, strong customer focus, accountability, and dependable execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as required to support essential business functions.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • High School diploma and/or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in sales and/or business development
Additional Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Weed Science, or a related agricultural field
  • Experience in the agricultural industry with exposure to field research, technical service, agronomy, or crop protection products
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand, interpret, and communicate product performance and agronomic data
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical information into effective sales and training tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to groups
  • Proven interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with the ability to influence diverse audiences
  • Experience working collaboratively across sales, marketing, and technical teams
  • Strong customer service mindset supporting internal and external customers, including growers, retailers, and technical partners
  • Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to perform in a fast‑paced, seasonal environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel greater than 85%, including overnight stays based on seasonal business needs
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office tools
  • Clean driving record

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
