THE OPPORTUNITY

The Director, Brand Insights & Analytics leads Chipotle’s brand, marketing, and consumer analytics capabilities, overseeing competitive intelligence, marketing measurement, reporting, and strategic analytics. This role partners closely with Marketing, Media, Finance, Culinary, Strategy, and Digital teams to translate complex data into actionable insights that inform marketing strategy, menu innovation, and business growth. Leading a high-performing team of analytics managers and data science talent, the Director will establish analytical standards, drive experimentation and measurement rigor, and deliver executive-ready insights that improve decision-making across the organization. 

LOCATION

This position will be based in our Newport Beach, CA office 4 days per week (with work from home on Friday). Remote work is not available for this role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Brand & Marketing Analytics Leadership:

  • Lead the vision, strategy, and operating model for Brand Insights & Analytics, aligning analytics priorities to business and marketing objectives. 

  • Partner with Marketing, Finance, Culinary, and Strategy leadership to inform decision-making across brand strategy, menu innovation, promotions, and growth initiatives. 

  • Translate complex business questions into structured analytical approaches and actionable recommendations. 

Competitive Intelligence & Marketing Measurement:

  • Oversee competitive intelligence, external data partnerships, and marketing measurement capabilities. 

  • Lead measurement approaches across MMM, campaign performance, experimentation, and incrementality. 

  • Guide scalable reporting and dashboard ecosystems that support trusted business visibility. 

Strategic Analytics & Experimentation:

  • Lead analytics for LTOs, promotions, marketplace initiatives, and other strategic growth opportunities. 

  • Establish test-and-learn frameworks including geo tests, marketplace pilots, and causal measurement approaches. 

  • Integrate first- and third-party data to identify performance drivers and consumer insights. 

Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence:

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing analytics organization, establishing standards for analytical rigor, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement. 

  • Create strong partnerships across Marketing, Media, Finance, Culinary, Strategy, and Digital organizations. 

  • Deliver executive-ready presentations and narratives that clearly communicate implications, tradeoffs, and recommendations. 

  • Foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing Science, or related quantitative field preferred; advanced degree preferred. 

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, marketing science, consumer intelligence, or related fields. 

  • 5+ years of experience leading high-performing analytics teams and cross-functional initiatives. 

  • Experience spanning marketing measurement, experimentation, consumer analytics, and strategic decision support. 

  • Experience working with both first-party and third-party datasets to generate business insights. 

  • Preferred experience in restaurant, retail, QSR, or consumer-facing industries 

Methods & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of MMM, incrementality testing, experimentation, and campaign analytics. 

  • Proficiency with SQL and familiarity with Python/R, Snowflake, and BI tools (Power BI/Tableau). 

  • Experience applying advanced analytical techniques and synthesizing insights into business recommendations. 

  • Experience leveraging AI tools to improve analytics and insight generation.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $182,000.00–$264,500.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
