Job description

At the present time, vacancies for Foreign Language Interpreter positions for all languages exist within the Student Services Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. At this time, the CCIU is searching for candidates fluent in Nepali, Swahili & Portuguese.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Fluency in Spanish required
  • Experience with educational interpretation strongly preferred
  • Original criminal history clearance, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprint clearance (dated within the year), clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)

Duties & Responsibilities:

CCIU foreign language interpreters provide interpretation in educational settings, including, but not limited to:

  • IEP meetings
  • Evaluations
  • In-home and classroom visits
  • Disciplinary hearings
  • Parent-teacher conferences
  • Open houses
  • PSSA/Keystone Exams

Schedule:

  • Up to 260 Days/year, 5 days per week, 3 hours/day
  • Schedule will be as needed and on an on-call basis
  • Flexible based on the hours candidates are available 

Hourly Rate: 

Support, Band 12: $26.55/hour - $33.19/hr. 
*Placement on salary scale determined based upon years of relevant experience*
*Compensation provided for travel to and from meeting locations*
Location:



  • IU Countywide, including:
    • CCIU campuses
    • Surrounding school districts
  • Online Meetings via Zoom
