Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking a Compensation Analyst to support and advance our compensation strategy across a complex, multi-state healthcare organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a compensation professional who enjoys blending analytics, job architecture, market research, and strategic problem-solving to help attract, retain, and reward employees who make a difference every day.
Reporting to the Benefits and Compensation Manager, the Compensation Analyst will assist in the development, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of compensation programs, policies, and practices. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, experience with job architecture and job evaluation methodologies, and a solid understanding of compensation practices that support a diverse, multi-state workforce.
This is a hybrid position and will work in office 2 days per week in Roseville, MN.
Responsibilities
  • Support compensation programs that align with PHS's total rewards strategy, compensation philosophy, and organizational goals.
  • Conduct market pricing, compensation analyses, and benchmark studies to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
  • Lead job evaluations and support the development and maintenance of PHS's job architecture, including job families, career paths, and salary structures.
  • Review and maintain job descriptions to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Analyze compensation data and provide recommendations related to salary offers, market adjustments, pay equity, and organizational changes.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and monitor market trends to support compensation planning and decision-making.
  • Assist with annual compensation processes, including merit increases, salary structure reviews, and pay practice evaluations.
  • Partner with HR leaders, hiring managers, and operational leaders to provide compensation guidance and support.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour regulations, compensation policies, and pay practices.
  • Maintain compensation data and support position management activities within HR systems.
  • Develop reports, presentations, and recommendations to support compensation projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to leaders and HR partners on compensation programs, job evaluation, and pay practices.
  • Support special compensation projects and other Total Rewards initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree ideally in Human Resources, Business Administration, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
  • Minimum two years Compensation experience including compensation design, administration, and data analysis with knowledge of Human Resources principles and best practices in compensation including job analysis and evaluation.
  • One to two years of business-related experience is preferred, preferably involving data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Technical knowledge and experience working in HR information systems (e.g., Ceridian Dayforce), and with Microsoft Suite.
  • Experience with various salary survey tools.
  • Experience working in multi-state, multi-site health care-related firm is preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to:
    • Gather, analyze and organize data using a logical and systematic process
    • Ascertain relevant and irrelevant data when conducting analytical work
    • Visualize and articulate problems and concepts in a systematic manner
    • Recognize patterns and issues in sets of data
    • Identify obstacles impeding project progression
  • Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly language and tailor communications, formal or informal, to the audience.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work under tight deadlines or changing needs; strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence and ability to work independently as well as in a team structure.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS' mission and operating philosophies.

Pay Range
The estimated starting pay range for this role is $67,496 - $84,365 per year. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS's typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends upon many factors including each individual employee's qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.
