Position Summary:ย 

This is a full-time, entry level position conducting meter readings of gas and electric meters throughout the Central Hudson NYS territory.ย 

Essential Job Functions:ย 

  • Safely and accurately read electric and gas consumption metersย 
  • Inspect meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connectionsย 
  • Polite and professional interactions with the public and clientsย 
  • Must have the ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle.ย 

Position Qualifications:ย 

  • Previous experience working outsideย 
  • Ability to walk between 1 to 5 miles each dayย 
  • Enjoy working outdoors in various types of weather and terrain such as wooded, urban and rural areas.ย 
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving recordย 
  • Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements. Sitting or standing for prolonged period of time required. Complies with all safety rules and regulations set forth by PPSย
