Job description

  • JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
    • Job Summary:
      • The performance of preventive maintenance assignments in accordance with established procedures. May be required to paint, varnish, stain, wallpaper, and enamel surfaces using appropriate equipment and techniques.
    • Education:
      • Position requires a high school diploma or GED or 2-3 years equivalent combination of education and experience in related area. Job-related trade school completion, preferred. Specific technical skills are required to fulfill department requirements. Up to six (6) months on-the-job training provided to gain proficiency, if needed.
    • Registration/Certification/Licensure:
      • Unexpired Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker or other facilities maintenance-related certification.
      • Unexpired, unsuspended driver’s license if incumbent will be required to drive as part of their routine job duties.
    • Experience:
      • Previous experience in plumbing, A/C and electricity required. One (1) to three (3) years experience in a structured maintenance environment required. Previous experience in a hospital maintenance department preferred.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
      • Effectively communicates by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.
      • Ability to work independently producing quality work.
      • May require the ability to drive as part of routine job duties.
      • Ability to respond promptly to an on-call schedule if assigned.
      • Ability to effectively prioritize work assignments and job requests.
      • Ability to maintain knowledge of carpentry, electricity, plumbing, and mechanical systems and demonstrate a general skill level with power tools and equipment to effectively complete job duties and assignments.
      • Ability to paint and wallpaper if required.
