Job description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all project personnel and trade contractors,
working with the safety personnel as a resource. Continually strive for zero Injuries on all projects.
• Lead on-site safety meetings.
• Watch for and correct all safety hazards at the jobsite.
• Report all safety incidents to immediate supervisor and safety personnel.
• Install bulletin boards and post warning signs for site hazards.
• Ensure posting and/or availability of all required labor law posters.
• Post contact information for Crisis Management Team, including local and emergency contacts.
• Implement safety procedures to ensure OSHA, company, and client policies are followed, whichever is most stringent.
• Contact Safety Manager and Project Manager when OSHA Representative visits jobsite.
• Coordinate required inspections with national and local jurisdictions.
• Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
• May be required to serve as onsite safety representative on the jobsite.
• Know where to locate and be able to provide documentation from the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
• Ensure all personnel are current with safety and skill training.
• Ensure Safety Manager receives documentation of safety training.
• May be required to coordinate and administer weekly safety meeting with owners, subcontractors, suppliers and
Brycon's field personnel.
• Assist with and/or review Pre-Task Plans, Job Hazard Analyses, and tool box talks.
• Assist with and/or review Incident Investigation Report and job emergencies, providing detailed documentation.
• Identify and address security issues (such as fences, barricades, lighting, alarms, and public access) and obtain
appropriate signatures from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor and schedule maintenance of equipment and tools.
• Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion.
• Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed and ensure correction of any
deficiencies.
• Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with the contracted scope of work.
• Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to Project Manager for resolution.
• Maintain daily log of activities and visitors/subcontractors sign-in sheet on the jobsite.
• Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously.
• Walk all scopes of work on project to monitor activities and assist in future planning and coordination.
• Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
• Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining permits, submittals, RFIs, ASIs, and approval of revisions.
• Identify areas of work that are outside of contracted scope and elevate to Project Manager for inclusion in proposal.
• Participate in preconstruction meeting.
• Open the jobsite at beginning of the day, and secure the jobsite at the end of the day. This task may be delegated if
Superintendent works multiple jobsites.
• Ensure all documentation is saved to project files located on Brycon's shared drive.
• Ensure record and timekeeping are accurate and submitted to payroll.
• Assist with counseling statements and evaluations of all employees under their supervision on the jobsite.
• Participate in presentation and proposal preparations.
• Maintain a good relationship with clients and subcontractors during and after the project.
• Mentor and train foremen and general foremen in order to execute jobsite at maximum work efficiencies.
• Plan work activities ensuring that isometric drawings, p&id's, equipment and material are available to execute project.
• Ensure that work crews are knowledgeable of work procedures and specifications.
• Maintain communication with Project Manager, engineering, and Owner to ensure work complies with drawings,
specifications, cost and schedule.
• Plan the rental or purchasing of equipment and materials.
• Schedule deliveries.
• Other duties, as assigned.
• From time to time, an exempt employee may be required to work additional hours (in excess of 40 per week) to
accomplish the goals and deliverables of his or her position. These additional hours may include non-normal work
hours, weekends, and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent and 7 years' experience of skilled electrical work.
• Favorable driver's record/valid license required.
• Ability to obtain OSHA 30 certification.
• Skilled in reading, writing, and math.
• Skilled in the use of electrical, basic power and hand tools.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of methods and techniques of performing skilled electrical work.
• Knowledge of methods and techniques of storing equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Detailed-oriented regarding principles and procedures of record keeping.
• Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Knowledge and acceptance of good health and safety principles and practices are desired.
• Ability to provide leadership and mentoring of crews.
• Skilled in interpersonal communication by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those
contacted during work.
• Must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol testing.
