Job description

ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER / YOUTH PROGRAMMER - Maumelle Library (10 Lake Pointe Dr, Maumelle, AR 72113) seeks a positive, proactive individual to join our team as Assistant Branch Manager / Youth Programmer. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position. Essential duties of this position include (1) assisting the Branch Manager with management functions such as scheduling, supervision, and staff development; (2) modeling excellent communication and customer service skills; (3) performing functions associated with a public library environment such as circulation, guest services, instructional assistance, and administrative reporting; (4) planning and actively carrying out a variety of activities for children, teens and families both inside the library and out in the community. Individuals should be outgoing, creative, and love working with teens and elementary-aged children. Activities include storytime, crafting, afterschool events, and other creative endeavors. This job also involves introducing and suggesting books and authors that promote literacy to families, as well as assisting with day-to-day tasks performed by library staff. Candidates must be able to reach, lift, push and pull up to 50lbs, and be able to stand for periods of time. Schedule will include working Wednesday nights and some weekends. Pay starts at $19.00 per hour with excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid pension, life insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave and holiday pay.
