Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of their mood disorder symptoms, utilizing standardized tools and methods.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment strategies that align with their unique challenges, goals, and preferences.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and strategies for effective self-care.
  • Continuously monitor client progress, documenting and adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists, social workers, and medical specialists to provide integrated care plans tailored to client needs.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to refine clinical practices and improve client care.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential client records in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and collaboration.
  • Advocate for clients and contribute to the fight against the stigma surrounding mental illness, ensuring that their voices and needs are heard and met.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with clients who are experiencing various mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and related emotional challenges. Your compassionate approach will help clients build resilience, foster personal growth, and achieve long-term mental wellness. Understanding the diverse backgrounds and experiences of each client will be key to providing effective treatment.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Demonstrates empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental attitude toward clients' struggles and experiences.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential for navigating administrative tasks while managing a caseload.
Preferred Experience

Experience working with mood disorders is highly valued and will enhance your capabilities in addressing clients' needs. Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities, especially CBT and DBT, is beneficial. Continued professional development in areas such as addiction counseling or trauma-informed care will also be an asset.
