We understand the complex challenges that students face in today's educational environment, and we strive to create an inclusive and supportive atmosphere. Our mission emphasizes collaboration, care, and community connection, allowing us to provide effective social work services tailored to the diverse needs of our clients.

Work Environment

This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to manage your schedule while delivering critical support to students. You will engage with educational staff, families, and community resources through virtual meetings, ensuring that our students receive comprehensive care in a timely manner. Part of your responsibilities will include conducting assessments and intervention strategies within the school setting to address the unique challenges posed by remote intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed individual assessments of students’ psychosocial needs, identifying emotional, mental, and social factors impacting their academic performance and well-being.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and interdisciplinary teams to create tailored care plans that align with students' personal goals and academic requirements.
  • Provide counseling and emotional support, helping students and their families navigate challenges such as grief, stress, and adjustment to school dynamics.
  • Advocate fiercely for students' rights, ensuring they have access to resources within the community that promote safety, health, and academic success.
  • Regularly schedule virtual follow-ups to monitor students’ progress, emotional health, and living conditions, proactively addressing any emerging concerns.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution within families and between students and staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.
  • Educate clients and their families about available support systems, mental health resources, and social engagement programs to enhance their quality of life.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of assessments, progress notes, care plans, and client interactions to ensure compliance with ethical standards and organizational policies.
  • Stay current with social work best practices and educational policies to provide informed and relevant support to students.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on school-aged children and adolescents facing diverse social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. You will work closely with students from various backgrounds, including those encountering difficulties related to life transitions, academic pressures, mental health issues, and socio-economic factors. Your role will directly influence their educational journey, ensuring they feel supported and empowered.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
  • Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) within the State of Texas is mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in social work, preferably in an educational or child-focused setting.
  • Thorough understanding of social work practices, including crisis intervention, counseling techniques, and community resource navigation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for building rapport with students, families, and educational staff.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems to manage client documentation efficiently.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a school environment or with youth in a therapeutic setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant educational policies and frameworks surrounding student well-being.
