Bright Path Social Work is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Master Social Worker to provide vital support and resources to students in a school setting. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work while focused on improving the psychosocial well-being of adolescents. Ideal candidates will bring their expertise in social work to foster positive development and resilience among students and their families.

About the Organization

Bright Path Social Work is a leading provider of social services aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in our community. Recognizing the unique challenges children and adolescents face today, we are committed to creating supportive environments where they can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. Our mission is to empower youth and their families through skilled social work, advocacy, and resource coordination.

Work Environment

This role entails a remote work setting, allowing the professional flexibility to connect with students and their families from the comfort of their homes. The majority of interactions will occur through telehealth platforms and phone consultations, supplemented by occasional on-site visits as necessary. The work schedule follows standard school hours, with the understanding that occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to accommodate family schedules or urgent client needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the emotional, mental, and social needs of students, identifying obstacles to their academic success and personal well-being.
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with students, families, and educational staff, addressing specific goals and challenges faced by each client.
  • Deliver counseling services to students, providing emotional support and guidance through challenging situations, including family dynamics and academic stressors.
  • Advocate for students' rights and ensure access to appropriate resources, both within the school system and the larger community.
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, school nurses, and mental health professionals, to coordinate comprehensive care plans and interventions.
  • Monitor student progress through regular check-ins, updating care strategies as necessary and addressing any new concerns that may arise.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution among family members, promoting effective communication and understanding in support of the student's needs.
  • Provide education about community resources, support groups, and programs that can enhance students’ social engagement and personal development.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of client interactions, assessments, and care plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Licensed Master Social Worker will primarily work with adolescents and their families, recognizing the unique challenges of this age group. This role requires an empathetic approach to understanding the pressures faced by students, including academic demands, peer relationships, and family dynamics. The focus is on building trust and rapport to encourage students to engage in their own growth and navigate complex life changes effectively.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a social work capacity, particularly in educational or community settings.
  • Strong grasp of social work principles and the challenges faced by adolescents today, including mental health issues, bullying, and family conflict.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and the ability to connect with students and their families.
  • Proficient in utilizing digital tools and electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and communication.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a school environment or with youth and families in a community-based setting.
  • Familiarity with school systems and resources available to support student needs.
