Position Overview

Blue Ribbon Social Work is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to join our dynamic team in a full-time remote capacity. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students through challenges related to substance abuse and mental health. Our mission is to provide high-quality, evidence-based care that promotes recovery and well-being.

About the Organization

At Blue Ribbon Social Work, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care in the realm of substance abuse treatment. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, we utilize advanced technology and maintain a strong commitment to fostering an empowering and supportive environment. Our team consists of experienced professionals who collaborate closely to provide comprehensive and individualized treatment to our patients.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, offering flexible work hours that allow you to create a schedule that best fits your own lifestyle while effectively managing your caseload. You will engage with a diverse patient population within the educational setting, helping students navigate their unique challenges while collaborating with schools and teachers to ensure a holistic approach to their recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual psychotherapy to students grappling with mental health issues and substance abuse, utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of students and develop tailored treatment plans that incorporate best practices and solution-focused interventions.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions that promote recovery, encouraging students to develop coping strategies and resilience.
  • Maintain meticulous and compliant clinical documentation in line with regulatory standards, ensuring all records are complete and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including educators, school counselors, and healthcare providers, to coordinate care and address any emergent challenges faced by students.
  • Educate students and their families about available mental health and substance abuse resources, empowering them to take proactive steps in their recovery journey.
  • Stay informed about the latest research in mental health and substance abuse treatment and integrate new findings into your practice.
  • Manage your caseload to meet treatment goals while maintaining ethical standards and client confidentiality.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on adolescent and young adult clients who are undergoing treatment for substance abuse issues and co-occurring mental health conditions. You will work with students from diverse backgrounds, each facing unique challenges, and your role will be crucial in guiding them towards recovery and successful integration into their academic environment.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • A valid LICSW license in the state of Massachusetts.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience, particularly in the context of substance abuse therapy and mental health support.
  • Strong knowledge of solution-focused interventions and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity for effective teamwork.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of experience is required, candidates with additional experience in school settings, or those who have worked directly with adolescent populations facing substance abuse issues will be given preference. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth modalities is also advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The competitive salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, robust retirement plans, malpractice insurance coverage, and an employee assistance program that focuses on mental health support. We also offer unlimited referrals and minimized paperwork to enhance your practice experience.

Career Growth Opportunities

At Blue Ribbon Social Work, we are committed to the professional development of our staff. We provide opportunities for ongoing training, specialization in various therapeutic methodologies, and support for licensure advancement. As our organization continues to grow, talented individuals may find paths into leadership roles, further influencing the field of social work and mental health.
