We are looking for a Principal Engineer -CFD/Thermal to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to Sr. Director, Development Engineering.
Location: This position will be fully Onsite based in San Jose, CA
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and conduct CFD/Thermal studies for Energy server enclosures and site installations.
  • Provide regular guidance on enclosure thermal management for Product development, from concept to production.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, ensure timely guidance with accurate predictions.
  • Collaborate with Cross-functional teams including Commercial /Marketing teams for feasibility study.
  • Report and present results/recommendations across diverse groups within Bloom, and customers, as needed.
  • Provide guidance on flow/thermal tests, field data collection for validation and performance characterization.
  • Expand CFD capabilities with new model developments and model improvements.

Skills and Experience:
  • MS or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering.
  • Deep understanding of the fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer and CFD.
  • 8+ years of industry experience utilizing CFD in Thermal management, in Electronics/Data center cooling.
  • Highly skilled in one of the CFD tools: ANSYS Icepak(preferred)/Fluent/Flotherm.
  • Be creative in utilizing CFD for quick and accurate predictions as well as conduct hand calculation from first principles.
  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior members in the team.
  • Self-starter, quick learner, able to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
