Blaze Health is actively seeking a dedicated and culturally competent Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team in an exciting full-time remote role. Ideally located in Syracuse, New York, you will become a pivotal part of our outpatient psychiatry services, specializing in providing high-quality, inclusive care.

This position offers a fully remote work setting, granting you the flexibility that modern mental health practitioners seek. You will be supported by a diverse group of colleagues and mental health professionals, all working toward a common goal of providing exceptional care. Our scheduling, typically from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, allows for some flexibility to better accommodate patient needs.

• Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive assessments that delve into the unique experiences and challenges faced by each patient, ensuring appropriate and personalized treatment plans are developed.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individual circumstances, addressing the mental health needs of our diverse patient population.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at promoting resilience, coping skills, and overall mental wellness.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of services for our clients.
• Provide expert crisis intervention during emergencies, helping to de-escalate situations and offer immediate support to those in distress.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health disorders, elucidating treatment options and connecting them with community resources that may assist in their recovery journey.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation consistent with all legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems proficiently.
• Actively engage in case conferences and team meetings, sharing insights and participating in cultural competency training to continuously enhance our service delivery.
• Stay abreast of current research and best practices in mental health therapy, incorporating new knowledge into therapeutic practices for superior patient outcomes.

Our clientele consists of individuals from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, including ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and immigrant communities. • A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York.
• A comprehensive understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and cultural competence in therapy delivery.
• Prior experience providing individual and group therapy, employing inclusive and culturally responsive methods.
• Strong skills in crisis intervention, demonstrating calmness and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a capacity to build rapport with a variety of individuals.
• Competency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other technology relevant to mental health practice.
• A firm commitment to ethical practice, professional boundaries, and confidentiality in all patient interactions.

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health counseling setting.
• Experience working with marginalized communities and a proven ability to address the unique needs of diverse populations effectively.
