Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that are culturally sensitive, allowing the development of tailored treatment plans that reflect patients’ individual needs.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques in both individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring therapeutic approaches take into account the cultural and personal backgrounds of clients.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention strategies, providing immediate support to patients experiencing acute mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including psychiatrists and psychologists—to deliver coordinated, high-quality care to our clients.
  • Educate patients and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources to empower them in their wellness journey.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards, ensuring accuracy in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Participate in training sessions focused on cultural competency to continually enhance the effectiveness of your therapeutic approach.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in mental health therapy to provide the best possible care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population you will serve at Blaze Health includes individuals from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds, marginalized communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as immigrant populations. You will play a vital role in their mental health journey by ensuring equitable, culturally-tailored mental health services that foster resilience and promote well-being.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid and current license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
  • A robust understanding of various mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience providing individual and group therapy using culturally responsive approaches.
  • Exceptional crisis intervention skills and the capacity to remain composed during high-pressure situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building effective relationships with a diverse clientele.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and various computer applications.
  • Commitment to uphold professional boundaries, ethical practices, and the confidentiality of patient information.
  • A collaborative spirit to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team framework.
Preferred Experience

We are looking for candidates who have at least two years of relevant experience in a mental health counseling role, with a demonstrated history of working with complex cases and diverse populations. Experience in an outpatient mental health setting is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

Blaze Health offers a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
