At Belvedere Trading, Quantitative Trading Interns are some of the industry's highly motivated most quantitative problem solvers. They have a love for financial markets and enjoy working in teams to learn about various trading concepts. Our Quantitative Trading Interns participate in a hands-on rotation between Belvedere's trading desks and collaborate with Developers and Strategists in research to improve our trading systems. Our Interns are at the forefront of technology immersion as they learnbest practices insoftware development and focus on projects related to trading logic development, electronic trading strategies, and quantitative research.If you love technology and financial markets, then this position might be for you.ย

What our Quantitative Trading Interns do

  • Daily trading activities - Assist with analyzing daily trades and recapping significant trendsย 

  • Rotations - Rotate between product groupsย to gainย a broadย understandingย and knowledgeย of the market and Belvedere's trading strategiesย 

  • Desk strategy -ย Engage in daily collaborative strategy adjustments with your team to adapt to market dynamicsย 

  • Research - Participate in quantitative research and the application of quantitative strategieswhilelearning concepts behind our core market making operationsย 

  • Data Analysis -ย Analyze extensive datasets to extract insights that bolster our trading strategiesย 

  • Training -ย Benefit from our industry-leading BTU program, complemented by ongoing practical training within our trading operations, covering a spectrum from foundational knowledge to advanced proprietary concepts.ย 

Key qualities in great candidates

  • Curious - We'll teach you everything you need to know, but we love working with people who ask questions and are eager to get involvedย 

  • Communication - We need people who can speak confidently and concisely especially when the stakes are highย 

  • Analytical -ย We'reย looking for quantitative thinkers and master problem-solvers with strong data analysis skillsย 

  • Team Player - Trading and development are not isolated activities at Belvedere, so great candidates will haveย demonstratedย success in working in team-based environmentsย 

  • AI Fluencyย -ย Effectivelyย useย AI tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness whileย maintainingย independent judgement and critical thinkingย ย ย 

  • Core development skills - You will need some training or a demonstratedabilityto learn programming languages such as C++, C#, and Pythonย 

  • Knowledge of the financial markets and trading industryย isn'tย required, but it is a plus!ย ย 

  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this positionย 

  • Ability to live in Chicago and attend the internship fully in person during the summer of 2027ย ย 

  • Graduation date of December 2027/Spring 2028ย 

$140,000 - $140,000 a year
