The property is a long-standing member of Relais & Châteaux, an international association of outstanding boutique properties known for their excellence in hospitality and the culinary arts, and the flagship hotel for the Auberge Collection.

Job Description

The Pool Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional beverage service and personalized hospitality while supporting operations at both the Pool Bar and The Bar. This role creates memorable guest experiences through expert beverage preparation, attentive service, and genuine engagement, reflecting Auberge du Soleil's Forbes Five-Star standards and commitment to excellence.

Working in both relaxed outdoor and refined restaurant environments, the Pool Bartender demonstrates versatility, professionalism, and a passion for hospitality while maintaining the highest standards of beverage quality, service execution, and operational excellence.

  • Provide warm, personalized, and engaging service to every guest, creating memorable experiences that reflect Auberge Collection's luxury hospitality standards.
  • Prepare and serve handcrafted cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency, precision, and attention to detail.
  • Develop meaningful guest connections by anticipating needs and personalizing beverage recommendations.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, cocktails, beer, and menu offerings to confidently guide guest selections.
  • Ensure every interaction reflects Forbes Five-Star service standards through professionalism, efficiency, and genuine hospitality.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly or elevate issues to Restaurant leadership when appropriate.
  • Prepare beverages according to established recipes, presentation standards, and service expectations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout each shift.
  • Monitor product quality, freshness, and inventory levels while communicating replenishment needs.
  • Follow all cash handling, point-of-sale, and payment procedures accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) regulations and company alcohol service policies.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service by monitoring guest consumption and following established procedures.
  • Transition seamlessly between Pool Bar and Bar operations based on business needs.
  • Prepare bar stations before service and complete all opening, closing, and side work responsibilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar areas, storage spaces, and service equipment.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Assist with beverage inventory, stocking, receiving deliveries, and maintaining par levels.
  • Support efficient service by coordinating with culinary, restaurant, and pool team members throughout each shift.
  • Partner closely with Restaurant Managers, culinary team members, servers, and support staff to deliver seamless guest experiences.
  • Communicate proactively regarding VIP guests, special events, menu changes, and operational priorities.
  • Support fellow team members during periods of high business volume.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment built on teamwork and accountability.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other food and beverage areas as business demands require.

The starting pay rate for this position is $17.90-$18.90 per hour plus tips. This is the pay rate for this position that Auberge du Soleil reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual pay will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.  

Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of bartending experience in a luxury hotel, resort, fine dining restaurant, or upscale bar preferred.
  • Previous experience preparing craft cocktails and serving premium wines and spirits preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, wine, beer, spirits, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Passion for luxury hospitality and delivering personalized guest experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures preferred.
