Amplify Industrial Marketing + Guidance Jobs Information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a QA Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a QA Engineer, you need a solid understanding of software testing principles, programming or scripting knowledge, and familiarity with quality assurance methodologies, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Experience with test automation tools (such as Selenium or JUnit), bug tracking systems, and sometimes certifications like ISTQB are typically required. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills help QA Engineers identify issues and collaborate effectively with development teams. These skills ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality software products that meet user requirements and business goals.

How does a QA Engineer typically collaborate with developers and other team members during the software development lifecycle?

QA Engineers work closely with developers, product managers, and sometimes UX/UI designers throughout the software development lifecycle. They participate in sprint planning meetings, provide input on testability during requirements discussions, and collaborate with developers to understand new features and identify potential issues early. Regular communication helps ensure that quality standards are met and bugs are addressed promptly, resulting in a more efficient release process and higher-quality products. This collaborative environment also provides QA Engineers with opportunities to expand their technical knowledge and grow within the team.

What are QA Engineers?

QA Engineers, or Quality Assurance Engineers, are professionals responsible for ensuring that software products meet established quality standards before they are released to customers. They design and execute tests, identify bugs or issues, and work closely with development teams to resolve problems. QA Engineers play a crucial role in the software development lifecycle by preventing defects, improving product reliability, and ensuring a smooth user experience. Their work may involve manual testing, automated testing, and creating test documentation.

What is the difference between Qa Engineer vs Software Tester?

AspectQa EngineerSoftware Tester
CertificationsISTQB, CSTE, CSQAISTQB, CSQA (optional)
Work EnvironmentInvolved in automation, process improvement, and quality strategyPrimarily manual testing and test case execution
ResponsibilitiesDesigning test plans, automation, defect analysis, quality assuranceExecuting test cases, reporting bugs, verifying fixes
Industry UsageUsed across software development companies, especially in Agile and DevOpsCommon in traditional and Agile environments

The main difference between a Qa Engineer and a Software Tester lies in their scope and responsibilities. Qa Engineers typically focus on automation, quality processes, and strategic testing, while Software Testers mainly perform manual testing and bug reporting. Both roles are essential for ensuring software quality, but Qa Engineers often have a broader role in quality assurance and process improvement.

Amplify helps teachers bring delight and rigor to students every day. We have become a leader in K-12 literacy, biliteracy, math, and science by building inspiring teaching and learning experiences based on research. The Amplify Classroom platform combines curriculum, assessment, and supplemental learning into one coherent high-quality instructional system. A pioneer in education since 2000, Amplify has developed deep relationships in states and districts by partnering with educators to drive implementation quality and improved outcomes. We are seeking an experienced Web Development Project Manager to lead complex web development initiatives with a strong emphasis on content management systems, user experience design, and integrated marketing technology solutions. This role will bridge the gap between technical development teams and stakeholders across marketing, design, and engineering departments to deliver exceptional digital experiences that support Amplify's educational mission. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale web projects from conception to launch, with deep expertise in modern CMS platforms, design system implementation, and marketing automation tools.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for enterprise-level web development projects, including website redesigns, CMS implementations, and digital platform integrations, ensuring on-time delivery within scope and budget

  • Collaborate closely with marketing content strategists, marketing analytics specialists, UX/UI designers, and engineering teams to define project requirements and technical specifications for web-based educational platforms and marketing sites

  • Manage the implementation and optimization of the WordPress content management system, ensuring scalable content workflows and user-friendly authoring experiences

  • Oversee the integration of design systems and component libraries across multiple web properties, maintaining brand consistency and accessibility standards

  • Coordinate the deployment and optimization of marketing technology stack, including analytics platforms (Google Analytics, DataDog), marketing automation tools (HubSpot)

  • Monitor project health through comprehensive reporting on timelines, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and ROI metrics, building and maintaining dashboards for sprint progress, delivery metrics, and workload visibility using tools such as Jira dashboards and Smartsheets, and providing regular updates to executive leadership with tools such as Jira and Adobe Workfront.

  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes for web development projects, including user acceptance testing, accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.2), and performance optimization

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for status updates on development requests, proactively communicating progress, risks, blockers, delays, and tradeoffs to stakeholders; provide regular updates and track and communicate KPIs related to delivery efficiency, ensuring clear expectations on timelines and alignment across stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Digital Marketing, or related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • 5+ years of project management experience in web development, with at least 3 years in a senior role working with teams of 5+ developers and designers

  • Demonstrated expertise with modern content management systems, including hands-on experience with implementation and optimization

  • Strong understanding of web development technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks, Web Optimization, and API integrations

  • Proven experience managing marketing technology implementations, including analytics platforms, CRM systems, and marketing automation tools

  • Experience with design collaboration tools (Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite) and understanding of UX/UI design principles

  • Able to travel twice a year for in-person meetings at the Brooklyn office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the education technology sector or mission-driven organizations

  • Advanced knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and DevOps practices

  • Familiarity with data analytics and conversion optimization strategies

  • Background in digital marketing or growth marketing initiatives
