General Purpose

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is an entry-level position that is focused on meeting the needs of Alpine Bank customers by providing exceptional customer service. This position receives and pays out money, as well as accurately keeps records of cash and negotiable instruments involved in Alpine Bank's various transactions. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Practices exceptional service with customers using available training programs and measurement tools (ie. Alpine Way/CARE/Mystery Shop standards).
  • Uses numerous software applications to accomplish daily tasks with minimal errors.
  • Buys and sells currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
  • Maintains a balanced cash drawer and resolves errors and/or discrepancies as they arise.
  • Processes transactions, such as, but not limited to, deposits, cash checks, placing stops/holds, wires, vault transactions, cash advances, and check ordering.
  • Assists with Synapsys events as needed.
  • Performs safe deposit box entry and exit functions for customers.
  • Follows all bank policies and procedures.
  • Answers basic customer inquiries and cross-sells when appropriate.
  • Works effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Composes and submits proper business correspondence, including, but not limited to, letters and electronic mail, to internal and external customers.
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Customer Service oriented individual.
  • Basic skills in conflict resolution, complemented by clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Utilizes basic communication skills to mediate conflict resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic mathematical and cash handling skills.
  • Sufficient in Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat. 
  • Understanding of banking compliance regulations.
  • Familiar with basic fraud detection and location security. 
  • Basic understanding of the features and benefits of Alpine Bank consumer and business products and services.
  • Understands the importance of maintaining confidential information. 

Education or Formal Training:

  • No specific education or formal training is required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver’s License is required.

The successful candidate will need to obtain the following training based on availability:

  • Alpine Bank Development Academy – Level I

Experience:

  • An entry-level position requiring little or no banking experience.
  • Previous cash handling and/or customer service experience preferred. 

Working Conditions

Working Environment: 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, and multifunction printers. There are prolonged periods of standing in a generally fast-paced environment. Some evening and weekend hours will be included. Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Activities:  

These are representative of those which must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Physical demands of standing for long periods of time, good eyesight and hand/finger dexterity, and ability to remain calm and professional with upset customers.  May spend significant time doing computer work, with repetitive motion likely.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee may have to lift up to 75 pounds.
