Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director, Recreation Therapy, the Recreation Therapy Aide plans, organizes, and implements a variety of individual and group activities designed to meet the needs of all residents of Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing Center.

Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the person-specific needs of the patients served.

Type of supervision exercised: none. Jobs reporting to this position: none.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience working with a geriatric population preferred.

SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Clearances required: PA State Police criminal history check

and PA Department of Aging FBI fingerprint clearance (if applicable).

Must be certified or become certified in CPR.

Ability to maintain/promote positive relationships with residents, families, and facility personnel required.

Valid PA driver's license preferred.

If selected as a driver, must pass Allied Services' Driver Training Program.
