As a member of our team, you will utilize your expertise to create personalized treatment plans, foster therapeutic relationships, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance the overall well-being of our clients.

About the Organization

At Advanced Behavioral Therapy Center, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional counseling and therapy services. With a focus on the mental health needs of seniors, our mission is to offer support and guidance to help them navigate the complexities associated with aging. Our team of skilled professionals is committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all our clients, emphasizing empathy, cultural sensitivity, and collaborative care.

Work Environment

The position is primarily remote, providing flexibility to manage your schedule and responsibilities effectively. You will be part of a supportive outpatient team dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for geriatric clients. While the remote setting offers convenience, you will still engage regularly with your colleagues, participate in virtual team meetings, and collaborate on case management, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for seniors, identifying their unique needs and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that address emotional issues related to aging, including grief, loss, and adjustment to life changes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to create comprehensive care strategies tailored to each client's situation.
  • Provide educational resources and support to families and caregivers, enhancing their understanding of mental health issues affecting the elderly.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and cognitive stimulation, to improve mental acuity and overall mental health for seniors.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as necessary, ensuring optimal outcomes in alignment with established goals.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on providing mental health support to senior adults facing diverse challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief, and cognitive decline. Your work will directly contribute to improving their quality of life and emotional resilience. You will engage with clients who may be dealing with complex life transitions, encouraging their participation in therapy through trust-building and empathy.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation in the state of Florida.
  • A minimum of 4 years of recent experience providing mental health counseling and support to geriatric populations.
  • Training or certifications in geriatric mental health and aging-related counseling methodologies.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience utilizing evidence-based interventions and therapies specifically designed for elderly clients.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with seniors, their families, and healthcare team members.
  • An ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and adaptability in working with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive assessments and designing tailored treatment plans for individual clients.
  • Knowledge of ethical and legal standards governing mental health counseling in geriatric care.
Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive yearly salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, alongside a sign-on bonus to recognize your commitment to our mission. Benefits include:

  • An employee assistance program that provides confidential counseling services to support personal and professional challenges.
  • Access to wellness programs that promote a balanced lifestyle and support overall health.
  • Flexible work arrangements to facilitate a better work-life balance, allowing you to attend to personal needs while fulfilling your professional responsibilities.
  • Health savings accounts or flexible spending accounts to help manage healthcare expenses effectively.
