Position Overview

Active Path Counseling Center is excited to announce an opening for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. This full-time remote position offers dedicated professionals the opportunity to engage with clients facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. As a vital member of our team, your role involves not only assessing and diagnosing mental health conditions but also formulating tailored therapeutic interventions to foster client well-being and recovery.

Work Environment

This role supports a remote work model, which allows counselors the flexibility to connect with clients in a comfortable and confidential setting. While primarily telehealth-driven, you will also collaborate with colleagues in a traditional outpatient office environment to foster a sense of community and support within the team. Our modern technology systems, including a user-friendly electronic health records (EHR) system, enable seamless communication and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health status, including histories and relevant psychosocial factors that influence their well-being.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, setting measurable goals and identifying therapeutic modalities appropriate for each client's needs.
• Facilitate regular counseling sessions, employing both individual and group therapy techniques to assist clients in navigating challenges and achieving personal growth.
• Provide referrals to other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, when medication management or specialized care is necessary.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and session notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.
• Participate in team meetings and case consultations to collaboratively enhance patient care and share insights on effective treatment strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population, encompassing individuals from various age groups experiencing mental health issues ranging from mood disorders and anxiety to more complex diagnoses involving trauma and substance abuse. Your capacity to build strong therapeutic relationships will be crucial in fostering trust, essential for effective treatment outcomes and client retention.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.
• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State is required.
• A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience providing mental health counseling in outpatient, community, or clinical settings.
• A firm grasp of mental health disorders, evidenced by a commitment to evidence-based treatment methodologies and cultural competence in therapeutic practices.
• Strong crisis intervention skills, showcasing the ability to remain composed and effective in high-stress situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, proven by the capacity to engage meaningfully with a broad array of clients.
• Proficiency in utilizing EHR systems and familiarity with virtual counseling tools.
• Strong adherence to ethical guidelines, maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries with clients.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring holistic care that encompasses various aspects of patient health.
• Previous training or experience in teletherapy, incorporating innovative techniques to maintain client engagement.
• Familiarity with community resources and referral networks to enhance the continuum of care for clients.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
