Role Responsibilities

As a Manager, Global Corporate Strategy supporting the Strategic Planning function of Western Union, you will play a critical leadership role in the development, execution, and performance management of Western Union’s enterprise strategy. You will partner closely with senior leaders across business units and functions to lead strategic planning cycles, ensure alignment to enterprise priorities and drive progress on strategic initiatives globally. This role requires analytical rigor, hypothesis-driven thinking, and executive communication skills combined with an ownership mindset. You will guide and influence stakeholders across the organization, deliver executive‑ready insights and materials, and lead high-impact strategic efforts that shape the future of Western Union.

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning: Lead the annual and multi-year enterprise strategic planning process, including coordination across business units, executive stakeholders, and governance forums. Partner with senior leaders to define, align, and refine enterprise-wide strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Execution & Initiative Management: Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and business objectives. Establish governance, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation processes to drive accountability and successful delivery.
  • Insights, Analytics & Executive Communications: Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to evaluate business performance, strategic opportunities, and market trends. Develop executive-ready presentations, business cases, dashboards, and recommendations for senior leadership, Executive Committee, and Board-level audiences.
  • Team & Stakeholder Leadership: Build and maintain strong partnerships across business units and functions to drive alignment and execution of strategic priorities. Provide guidance and influence to cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support enterprise strategy initiatives.

Occasional travel may be required (10%-25%)

Role Requirements
  • *Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Western Union will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
  • Basic Qualifications
  • 2 - 5+ years of experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, management consulting, or business transformation.
  • 2+ years of experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives with executive-level stakeholders.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting quantitative business analysis, financial modeling, business case development, or strategic performance analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience developing executive presentations and communications for senior leadership audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with 2+ years of experience building complex analyses, dashboards, financial models, and executive presentations.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience conducting market assessments, competitive intelligence, M&A evaluations, or long-range strategic planning initiatives.
  • Experience within financial services, fintech, payments, banking, remittances, or digital commerce industries.
  • Experience in a corporate strategy function within a global organization.

Salary The base salary range is $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year; total on-target earnings include a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
