About the Opportunity:
Join Environmental and Safety Solutions Inc. (ESS)—a company built on quality, integrity, and a strong commitment to client success. We are currently partnering with a leading construction firm to hire a Construction Safety Associate for an active project in Jeffersonville, Ohio.
This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who thrives in the field, enjoys working alongside skilled trades, and is passionate about maintaining a safe and compliant job site.
The Construction Safety Associate will play a critical role in supporting daily safety operations on-site. This individual will be highly visible in the field, working directly with contractors and project teams to ensure compliance, reinforce safe behaviors, and proactively mitigate risk.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a strong field presence (90%+ of time) to monitor job site safety conditions and behaviors.
  • Conduct daily site walkthroughs, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions in real time.
  • Partner with superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors to promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Lead and participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and pre-task planning sessions.
  • Observe work activities across multiple trades (mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.) and ensure safe work practices are followed.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; document findings and support corrective action plans.
  • Reinforce positive safety behaviors while coaching and mentoring workers on best practices.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with emergency response as needed and coordinate with on-site personnel.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably in commercial or industrial environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and remain highly engaged in a fast-paced field environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage craft workers and leadership.
  • Experience supporting multiple trades and scopes of work.
  • OSHA 30 certification required (OSHA 500/510 or equivalent preferred).
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
