Summary

The VP, Integrated Supply Chain is a senior executive leader responsible for delivering Vizient's Integrated Supply Chain model across complex health systems, IDNs, and strategic clients. This role is an enterprise integration role - accountable for orchestrating a fully aligned, cross-functional supply chain solution that brings together sourcing, value analysis, analytics, inventory management, and operations into a single, high-performing delivery model.

The VP operates within a highly matrixed environment, aligning client executives, Vizient functional leaders, and on-site teams to a shared set of goals, governance, and performance outcomes. This leader translates strategy into execution, drives measurable improvements in cost, quality, and service, and builds scalable operating models that enable long-term growth. This leader not only delivers operational results but also identifies and drives new value creation opportunities, expanding Vizient's impact within client organizations. The VP operates with a general manager mindset - balancing delivery, client strategy, and growth to scale both client outcomes and Vizient's Integrated Supply Chain business. Success in this role requires the ability to lead through influence, create clarity in complex environments, and deliver results through teams that do not sit within a traditional reporting structure.

Responsibilities:

Client Leadership & Accountability

  • Serve as the senior leader accountable for performance, execution, and client value delivery across assigned client engagements.

  • Build and maintain strong executive-level client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on supply chain transformation and performance improvement.

  • Align client stakeholders, on-site teams, and Vizient functional leaders to a unified operating model with shared goals, priorities, and performance outcomes

  • Partner with client leadership to shape long-term supply chain strategies and transformation roadmaps - not just operational excellence.

  • Bring an informed perspective on market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive positioning to shape client strategy and elevate executive conversations.

  • Balance client value creation with sustainable, profitable growth for Vizient.

Integrated Delivery & Execution

  • Lead execution of integrated supply chain delivery within a highly matrixed operating model, aligning cross-functional Vizient teams (sourcing, value analysis, analytics, inventory, and operations) with client stakeholders.

  • Translate enterprise and client strategy into integrated operating plans with clear, measurable results

  • Drive execution of savings initiatives, operational improvements, and transformation efforts to achieve financial and performance targets.

  • Ensure consistent, coordinated execution across National Centers, ensuring capabilities are deployed effectively, consistently, and at scale.

  • Ensure seamless coordination between on-site operational teams and centralized Vizient functions, eliminating silos and enabling unified execution.

  • Identify risks, remove barriers, and lead structured problem-solving efforts to maintain operational performance and client satisfaction.

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts, including process redesign, standardization, and workflow optimization across client environments.

  • Support implementation of new tools, technologies, and capabilities that enhance delivery and scalability, client outcomes, and strengthen Vizient's integrated supply chain model.

Governance & Performance Management

  • Establish governance structures, including decision rights, escalation pathways, and accountability frameworks across matrixed teams.

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and management routines to drive accountability and continuous improvement.

Commercial Growth & Expansion

  • Identify opportunities to expand scope, deepen client partnerships, improve outcomes, and increase overall engagement value.

  • Partner with internal leadership to align delivery with financial performance, including revenue growth and margin optimization.

  • Support business development efforts through executive-level engagement, solution shaping, and operational credibility.

  • Contribute to the development of scalable solutions and offerings that can be deployed across multiple clients.

Matrix Leadership & Alignment

  • Drive alignment and results without direct authority, creating clarity, structure, and accountability across multiple stakeholders, reporting lines, and priorities.

  • Guide individuals and cross-functional teams through change by communicating direction, addressing concerns, reinforcing priorities, and enabling adoption of new ways of working.

  • Provide structured guidance and feedback to individuals and teams to improve performance and support ongoing professional growth, regardless of reporting relationship.

  • Balance enterprise standards with client-specific needs, ensuring both consistency and flexibility.

  • Partner closely with National Center leadership to deploy expertise in a coordinated, scalable manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced degree desired.

  • 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare supply chain, hospital operations, consulting, or related fields required.

  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-site environments and large-scale transformation initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success operating within highly matrixed organizations and influencing without direct authority.

  • Strong track record of delivering measurable financial and operational results.

  • Experience working with executive-level stakeholders in health systems or similarly complex organizations.

  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients' needs and timetables.
