Job description

Our client is seeking a Hazmat Field Technician / Driver to safely collect, package, transport, and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials while maintaining compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and state regulations. This position combines field service, hazardous materials handling, customer interaction, and commercial driving responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Hazardous Waste Handling
• Collect, package, label, and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials
• Identify waste streams and ensure proper containment and segregation
• Follow all EPA, OSHA, DOT, and state environmental regulations
• Utilize appropriate PPE and safety procedures at all times

Transportation & Driving
• Operate company vehicles including box trucks and tankers
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Maintain accurate manifests, shipping papers, and transportation records
• Ensure compliance with DOT driving and safety regulations

Field Services
• Perform site cleanups and environmental support activities
• Assist with spill response operations
• Support routine equipment inspections and maintenance
• Travel to customer locations to perform waste collection services

Documentation & Compliance
• Complete manifests, labels, work orders, and related documentation
• Read and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs

Customer Service
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, and supervisors
• Provide excellent customer support during service visits
• Maintain positive client relationships while ensuring service quality

Required Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License
• CDL Class B License
• Hazmat Endorsement
• Minimum 2 years of hazardous materials experience
• Minimum 2 years of waste management experience
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
• HAZWOPER Certification or equivalent safety certification
• Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and transportation regulations
• Ability to read manifests, SDS sheets, and operating procedures
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to lift, move containers, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in environmental services or industrial field operations
• Experience operating tankers or commercial waste hauling vehicles
