Job description

The Defense Solutions Industry Verticals Product Advisor is responsible for developing and executing product strategies that support growth within the Defense industry vertical. This role partners with customers, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Technology teams to identify emerging opportunities, solve complex customer challenges, and develop innovative solutions that deliver measurable business value.
The ideal candidate brings direct defense industry experience, strong product marketing and growth strategy expertise, and a demonstrated ability to develop customer-focused solutions that address mission-critical logistics, transportation, supply chain, and operational requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the development and execution of product strategies and roadmaps for Defense industry solutions.
  • Partner directly with defense customers, government stakeholders, and internal teams to identify needs and develop innovative customer-focused solutions.
  • Apply customer-centered design principles to translate customer challenges into scalable products, services, and capabilities.
  • Develop and support go-to-market, marketing, and growth strategies that drive customer adoption, revenue growth, and market expansion.
  • Conduct market, customer, competitive, regulatory, and industry analyses to identify opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Build business cases, forecasts, and performance metrics to support product investment and prioritization decisions.
  • Lead and execute complex cross-functional projects and programs from concept through implementation.
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technology, and enterprise stakeholders to deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Leverage analytics and customer insights to identify growth opportunities, optimize performance, and improve customer outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on defense industry trends, logistics requirements, and customer challenges.
  • Drive accountability for achieving customer, operational, and business performance objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent* in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field plus 5 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience. *Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Required Qualifications

  • Direct experience within the defense industry, including government, military, defense contractors, defense logistics, or related sectors.
  • Experience developing and executing product strategies that deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Proven experience developing product marketing, growth, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and develop innovative solutions that address complex operational challenges.
  • Proven project and program management experience leading large, complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills including business case development, forecasting, financial analysis, KPI measurement, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to analyze market, customer, and operational data to generate actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Experience gathering customer feedback and translating requirements into products, services, or operational capabilities.
  • Proven track record driving revenue growth, customer satisfaction, operational improvements, or market expansion initiatives.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent directly related experience.
Minimum Experience:

7+ years in product management, industry verticals solutions, or related roles with a proven track record of insights impacting product outcomes. An advanced degree may substitute for experience.

Pay: Memphis range: $9,719.96/mo - $16,523.93/mo; Miami range: $10,231.53/mo - $17,393.61/mo; Pittsburgh range: $10,231.53/mo - $17,393.61/mo; Plano range: $10,231.53/mo - $17,393.61/mo

Additional Details: This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN, Miami, FL, Pittsburgh, PA, or Plano, TX and candidates must live within a 50 mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning employees will be required to work at a FedEx Campus location four (4) times per week.
