NRG Consumer's purpose is to make energy and security services accessible to everyone. The Consumer business unit operates NRG's Smart Home (Vivint) and Retail Energy businesses, serving residential and small business customers.ย  NRG Consumer is organized around three core P&Ls: Smart Home, Texas Energy, and East/West Energy.ย  The Integrated Value Propositions (IVP) & Strategic Initiatives team supports NRG Consumer's enterprise growth agenda by designing, activating, and scaling integrated value propositions that leverage the combined strengths of NRG Consumer's energy and smart home portfolio.

Role Overview

The Business Analyst, Integrated Value Propositions & Strategic Initiatives, supports enterprise programs for NRG Consumer's energy and smart home products by converting business needs into functional requirements, designing operational processes, analyzing and problem solving, and delivering insights to drive growth, differentiation and measurable customer-focused results.

Integrated Value Propositions & Strategic Initiative Organization Purpose

  • Drives Growth Through Customer Value: Define and deliver integrated offerings that deepen customer relationships, improve satisfaction and unlock new revenue streams; Responsible for the success and management of NRG Consumer integrated products, including sales forecasts & volume, margin, costs, etc.
  • Connects Enterprise: Orchestrates across brands, regions, and business units to align strategy and execution.
  • Transform Strategy into Action: Turns strategic vision into measurable business outcomes through focused, high-impact initiatives.
  • Leads Without Boundaries: Influences across Product, Marketing, Technology, and Operations to ensure unified delivery of customer-first experiences.
  • Measures What Matters: Tracks performance using both financial and customer-centric metrics.ย  Communicates impact and optimizes for scale and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cross-functional requirements gathering using interviews, workshops, document analysis, process reviews, and workflow analysis.
  • Serve as a liaison between business teams, program management, technology, operations, and external partners.
  • Facilitate virtual and in-person interactive cross-functional workshops and brainstorming sessions, using visual modeling tools and techniques to define and understand business objectives, document requirements and drive decision making.
  • Engage in clear and effective communication with stakeholders to accurately understand business needs, assess potential solutions, design operational processes, and ensure consensus on desired results.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, process flows, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Establish future-state processes that span enrollment, energy, smart home and parter interaction, operations, data sharing, and customer experience.
  • Assess operational impacts, dependencies, risks, and change implications.
  • Facilitate testing coordination, including planning, test scenario definition, user acceptance and business validation.
  • Lead business readiness activities, including documentation, training inputs, operational checklists, and go-live validation.
  • Support implementation and post-launch stabilization by partnering with business, technology and operational teams.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend innovative solutions to optimize, automate, and scale operational processes.
  • Leverage customer feedback, insights, and data to accelerate time-to-market, increase customer adoption, and strengthen operational scalability.
  • Set and manage expectations related to requirements, process design, testing coordination, and readiness timelines.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized library of artifacts, including requirements, process flows/maps, business rules, test plans, desktop procedures, and training inputs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, program/project execution, consulting.
  • Experience in retail energy, smart home, technology, or consumer services.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel and Visio proficiency.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with a strategic, enterprise mindset.
  • Strong collaborator, adept at fostering relationships with diverse stakeholders.
