Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The  primary responsibilities of a wallcovering installer is measuring, cutting, and applying various types of wall coverings like paper, vinyl, murals, or fabric to interior walls and ceilings in commercial spaces, including preparing surfaces, mixing adhesives, and ensuring a smooth, professional finish by trimming excess material and maintaining precise alignment throughout the installation process; often requiring work at various heights using ladders and other tools. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Communicating with foreman and other workers to determine wallcovering requirements
  • Assembling scaffolding as required
  • Install wallpaper on various surfaces, including walls, ceilings, and columns
  • Measure and cut wallpaper to fit the area to be covered
  • Prepare surfaces for wallpaper installation by cleaning and smoothing out imperfections
  • Apply adhesive to the back of the wallpaper and hang it properly to ensure a seamless finish
  • Remove old wallpaper and prepare the surface for new wallpaper installation
  • Ensure that the installation area is kept clean and tidy throughout the installation process
  • Stay up-to-date on new wallpaper installation techniques and materials
  • Covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings as necessary
  • Proficient in wallpaper installation techniques and tools
  • Ability to accurately measure and cut wallpaper to fit walls
  • Knowledge of different types of wallpaper materials and their appropriate installation methods
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure a flawless finish
  • Physical stamina and ability to work on ladders and in various positions for extended periods of time
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot installation challenges
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing job sites and schedules.
  • Following safeguards, rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of wallcovering installation REQUIRED
  • Preference given to candidates with 2+ years of commercial painting or drywall finishing experience
