Position: Group Fitness Instructor - Hourly Part-Time
Twelve (12) Month Position
School/Program: The Educational Services Commission of New Jersey: Aquatics and Fitness Center
Start Date: Immediately - Pending Criminal History Clearance
Requirements:
  • Must hold a current Group Fitness Certification
  • Valid CPR/AED Certification required
  • CPR/AED certified
  • Dependable and team-oriented, with a willingness to assist with subbing when needed
  • Classes available mornings, evenings, and weekends

Preferred Experience (not required):
  • Zumba
  • Les Mills programs (e.g., Body Pump, Body Combat, etc.)
  • Indoor Cycling

Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma preferred.
  2. Less than High School diploma must have experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  3. Experience as an exercise instructor or exercise assistant.
  4. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  5. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  6. Current first aid and CPR certifications.
  7. Ability to individually conduct fitness classes.
  8. Other qualifications that the Board deems appropriate.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Ensures the safety of the- patrons in the fitness area.
  2. Monitors the activities at the fitness area to prevent accidents.
  3. Leads fitness and/or related classes following MRESC guidelines.
  4. Ensures safe and effective workouts.
  5. Responds to and reports accidents and incidents.
  6. Sets up, moves and stores class equipment when necessary.
  7. Develops positive relationships with members and provides motivational support and guidance.
  8. Increases participant awareness of healthy lifestyle factors.
  9. Attends staff meetings and approved trainings as required.
  10. Accurately maintains related record keeping.
  11. Other job duties and responsibilities as the Board deems necessary.

Hourly Rate: $37 - Hourly as Needed
