Job description

Zoo Crew – Guest Services Department

The Virginia Safari Park seeks motivated individuals to join our Zoo Crew in the Guest Services Department. The ideal candidate must be friendly, outgoing, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Weekends/Holidays required. Full‑time and part‑time positions are available.

Along with the attentive and high quality animal care of the section’s collection, candidates patrol the drive-through section for cleanliness and guest welfare. They maintain the high standards of the Park, while monitoring and enforcing safe guest/animal interactions. This position is the main person interacting with guests in safari, and as such is expected to have a neat appearance and genial disposition towards the public.

Tour Guides

We are seeking enthusiastic candidates to join our team of tour drivers. Drivers/tour operators present an informative narration on the park’s animals while driving a tractor pulled tour wagon through the safari. No experience necessary, as training is provided. Must have a valid driver’s license. Full and part time tour hours available.

Groundskeepers

We are looking for friendly, detail‑oriented, self‑motivated Groundskeepers who can be team players and strive to keep the park looking its best! Full‑time and part‑time positions are available.

Maintenance

We are looking to expand our maintenance crew! We are looking for a motivated individual who can aid in general maintenance tasks around the park. We’ll rely on you to help keep our grounds, buildings, and fences in good condition by doing various odd jobs as well as aiding in the construction of new facilities. You must be well‑organized with strong general repair skills and comfortable around livestock. Must be professional and able to work alone as well with others.
