Job description

PURPOSE

The Zone Leader supports the efforts of the Supervisor to ensure the work instructions for all tasks and functions related to the process flow of product movement are followed for their respective area. This position is a peer to peer leadership role

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Performs area tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Some work time will be spent doing the same work as peers. (i.e. picking, replenishing, shipping, packaging, etc.)
  • Ensure workload is distributed evenly among peers based upon the area you are responsible for.
  • Police respective area for compliance of 5S initiative, mis-placed product, equipment repairs/maintenance, safety hazards.
  • Spot audit for customer order accuracy.
  • Spot audit for location integrity (labeling, part #, and correct product location).
  • Spot audit peers' process compliance to ensure work instructions are being performed as designed.
  • Identify process problems and report directly to Supervisor.
  • Responsible for initiating peer to peer training for new employees and/or updates to process flows for current employees.
  • Ability to expedite and shift priorities when necessary to meet customer demand.
  • Keep respective area stocked with appropriate supplies to perform process flow.
  • Correct product location discrepancies reported to Zone Leader
  • Correct or report to Cycle Count Team all inventory discrepancies reported to Zone Leader
  • All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Physical demands require the person to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • The person is frequently required to lift 25-40 pounds or greater, climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to hear and talk.
  • The work environment will expose employee to the following elements: Noise, Heat, Cold, Dust
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience is a Distribution Center/Warehouse environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and managers
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities to be considered
  • Must be able to perform duties with minimal direction
  • Must be able to utilize the ERP, WMS and WES computer systems as required to perform duties as listed above
