Position Overview

The Sales Manager will play a critical role in expanding Imperial Star Solar’s market presence across North America. This individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing strategic customer relationships, and driving sustainable revenue growth across utility-scale, commercial & industrial (C&I), community solar, and distributed generation markets. Working directly with executive leadership, this role offers significant visibility and the opportunity to influence commercial strategy while building long-term partnerships throughout the solar industry. 

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across the U.S. solar market.

  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers through proactive outreach and relationship development.

  • Develop strategic relationships with developers, EPCs, distributors, utilities, IPPs, and other industry partners.

  • Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting and quotation through contract negotiation and order fulfillment.

Key Account Management
  • Build long-term relationships with existing customers and strategic accounts.

  • Understand customer needs and recommend customized module and cell solutions.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships and increase account revenue.

Commercial Strategy
  • Monitor market trends, customer demand, pricing, tariffs, and competitive activities.

  • Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

  • Support product commercialization and go-to-market initiatives.

  • Represent Imperial Star Solar at trade shows, conferences, customer meetings, and industry events.

Sales Planning & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and CRM records.

  • Prepare regular sales reports and business reviews.

  • Track sales performance against established goals and KPIs.

  • Support annual sales planning and territory development.

Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, and Business Operations to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

  • Coordinate internally to ensure customer requirements, delivery schedules, and commercial commitments are successfully executed.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sales effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience within the U.S. solar industry.

  • Proven track record of generating new business and closing complex commercial deals.

  • Strong understanding of the U.S. solar market, including developers, EPCs, distributors, and utility-scale projects.

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Experience managing long sales cycles and strategic customer relationships.

  • Experience with CRM systems such as Zoho, Salesforce, or HubSpot.

  • Willingness to travel as needed (approximately 25–40%).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling PV modules, solar cells, or other renewable energy products.

  • Existing network within the North American solar industry.

  • Experience working with utility-scale or large commercial customers.

  • Mandarin Chinese is a plus, but not required.
