The dishwasher position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the kitchen is maintained and is a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

Schedule: We are currently seeking full-time availability to include both evenings and weekends.

Essential Functions

  • Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glasses, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dishwasher
  • Sorts and stacks clean dishes
  • Carries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas
  • Tests dishwasher sanitizing levels and adjusts standards based on testing results
  • Washes pots, pans and trays by hand
  • Removes trash and garbage and transports to the dumpster
  • Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area
  • Cleans and rolls/unrolls mats
  • Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
  • Sweeps/mops floors
  • Assembles/disassembles dish machine
  • Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
  • Notifies manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
  • Does not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first
  • Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a kitchen environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment
  • A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates
