Job description

Job Summary
The Delivery Merchandiser Lead (DML) is responsible for leading and coaching a team of Delivery Merchandisers (DM) and Delivery Merchandiser Reliefs (DMR) to promote the delivery of products and to provide exemplary customer service. The Delivery Merchandiser Lead plays an integral role in developing and leading the frontline delivery team for success.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Managing assigned DM's and DMR's
  • Providing coaching, training, and motivation to new and existing DM's and DMR's to ensure achievement of branch revenue, profit, and growth goals.
  • Managing DM's and DMR'sperformance to ensure customer base goals are achieved; holding drivers accountable for executing their duties and responsibilities and taking proper corrective action, as recommended, if necessary, including termination of employment.
  • Leading strong safety culture by utilizing company safety initiatives to minimize injury, work time loss, and productivity loss.
  • Ensuring that staffing levels are maintained at an appropriate level to meet current and future delivery needs.
  • Conducting scheduled interactions with DM's and DMR's including Work With, One with Onesand riding with the DM's and DMR's for additional training, coaching and routine driving observations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical demands with activity or condition existing a considerable amount of time include sitting, standing, bending, lifting and carrying products
  • Must be able to frequently lift/move 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to grip a minimum of 45 lbs. with each hand

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience with strong Managerial Skills.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver's License (Class C) with a minimum of 5 years driving experience, clean driving record with no moving violations over the past 3 years.
  • No major driving convictions including DUI/DWI, reckless driving or at-fault fatal accident.
  • Must have basic computer skills including ability to use computer ordering equipment.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to safety regulations.
  • No visible tattoos or piercings permitted while in the workplace
  • Smoke- & Vape-Free Workplace.
  • Contingent upon the successful completion of a company-initiated and approved background check and motor vehicle report (MVR), drug screen, physical, and human performance evaluation (HPE)
